We look back with you on two varied days (October 24 and 25, 2023) entirely dedicated to warehouse, transport and production logistics - the IGZ INNOVATION DAYS!

After an already very successful event premiere last year, we again did everything to ensure that every visitor got his or her money's worth.

In total, we were able to welcome more than 160 visitors.

Day one started with the IGZ Keynote, held by the two managing directors Johann Zrenner and Alfred Meyer, as well as the SAP Keynote by the Vice President and Head of Logistics Product Management at SAP, Jörg Michaelis.

He was followed by inspiring technical presentations from global players such as WAGO, ContiTech, bilstein group, MTU Aero Engines, BHS Global Logistics and the Hoffmann Group. They all presented projects that focused on digitization and increased efficiency.

The IT and logistics company IGZ and the OTH Amberg-Weiden are expanding their cooperation by making Falkenberg an "Innovative Learning Center".

For IGZ Managing Director Johann Zrenner, this is a "stroke of accolade for IGZ and for the partnership between the company and the university.

In the future, there will be even more practice-oriented exchange for and with students on topics such as logistics, Industry 4.0 and AI applications. This strengthens the East Bavarian economy and helps to retain and attract skilled workers in the region.

Logistics Next Level: Since mid-2022, the bilstein group has been shipping car and commercial vehicle parts all over the world from its new logistics center in Gelsenkirchen. Behind this is a huge, highly automated intralogistics machinery on a floor space of 45,000 m², intelligently managed and controlled by SAP standard software.

The mega project involved a best-of-breed approach, which the spare parts specialist implemented together with IGZ Automation GmbH.

The latter acts as SAP EWM general contractor for the intralogistics, has taken over the logistics planning, consistently implemented the entire mechanics and control technology as well as SAP EWM, and continues to support the plant with an onsite service team after project completion.

How do you manage to migrate a 3-shift logistics operation with complex processes to SAP EWM S/4HANA in a confined space and optimise the processes at the same time? Uhlmann Pac-Systeme and IGZ had to deal with precisely this and many other questions. The SAP Quality Award, which the packaging specialist based in Laupheim received together with IGZ in the "Business Transformation" category, proves that this can be done successfully. This is already the second SAP Quality Award for IGZ.

An excellent new development: With a sophisticated "human-machine collaboration", the HAWK2 packing assistance system from IGZ has now been able to convince the panel.

The solution has now been awarded the prestigious "German Innovation Award". Like the hawk that gives it its name, HAWK2 keeps an eye on the packaging planning and process in order to achieve the best possible packing results at the workstations.

To achieve this, the system works collaboratively with the packer and enables transport and shipping volume savings of up to 30 percent through optimal calculation of finishing patterns.

First Hannover Messe, then LogiMAT - this April one leading trade fair followed the next! Our IGZ team was still in action at the Hannover Messe the previous week, until it left for Stuttgart directly afterwards - with the goal of LogiMAT 2023!

The international trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management took place from April 25 to 27, 2023.

From April 17 to 21, 2023, IGZ was represented for the 9th time as an exhibitor at the world's leading trade fair for industry.

More than 4,000 exhibitors presented their solutions for a digital, connected and sustainable industry and met 130,000 visitors from all over the world in Hannover.

The main theme was "Industrial Transformation" with a focus on digitalization and sustainability.

The world's most important industrial trade fair is thus providing clear impetus for more climate protection in business and industry, and is highlighting the contribution that digitization, automation and renewable energies can make in combination.

At the heart of the digitalization of production processes are Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

IGZ showed its broad spectrum in the area of SAP DIGITAL MANUFACTURING for discrete manufacturing and the process industry.

Increasing process requirements have prompted ENGEL AUSTRIA to subject the logistics center in Schwertberg to a comprehensive retrofit of all plant areas as well as the logistics IT after a useful life of around 20 years.

The complex package of measures was implemented in several construction stages during ongoing operations in order to ensure uninterrupted delivery capability despite the extensive interventions.

The partner decision was made in favor of IGZ as SAP EWM general contractor. In addition to all modernization measures of the plant technology, IGZ also implemented the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM/MFS) as new warehouse management software with direct connection to the control technology.

We are pleased to have been awarded for our solution "Extended SAP Express-Ship-Interface®": The shipping tool can basically be connected to a wide variety of transport service providers and has now been certified as a "Silver Partner" by DPD.

The transport service provider DPD Germany offers a connection to external IT solutions and a certification of the integrated services. We have now gone through this process for the first time and have been awarded the "Silver Partner" certification level!

Within the framework of the certification that has now taken place, it was checked whether Extended SAP Express-Ship-Interface® implements, among other things, all the specifications for shipping processing and whether the interfaces are compatible.
