More than 2,000 stacker cranes controlled with SAP MFS | Press release

IGZ has reached a new record: IGZ successfully controls more than 2,000 stacker cranes and well over 1,000 shuttle vehicles with SAP EWM/MFS standard software in automated small-parts and high-bay warehouses. This underpins the SAP engineers’ leading expertise in highly automated, SAP-controlled intralogistics systems.

This impressive number is another major success in the company’s 22-year history. The special thing about this is that both the stacker cranes and the shuttles come from a variety of different manufacturers and have been successfully put into operation in projects at more than 450 companies worldwide.

Siemens Healthineers relies on IGZ and SAP EWM | Press Release

In Kemnath in the Upper Palatinate, Siemens Healthineers is investing around €13 million in a partially automated production supply centre. By doing so, Siemens Healthineers will be automating intralogistics at the Kemnath site for the first time.

The new production supply centre is based on concept studies and planning results from IGZ in Falkenberg. As an SAP EWM general contractor, IGZ impressed one of the leading manufacturers of medical technology, in particular with technology neutrality and responsibility for end-to-end integration. As a result, IGZ was awarded the contract for overall implementation.

REHAU – standard as strategic best practice in logistics

To ensure that its IT architecture is standardised, polymer specialist Rehau relies on SAP EWM for warehouse and production logistics with direct SAP ERP integration. The roll-out to the sites is simplified by mean of a SAP EWM template in which the production and logistics processes of the Construction and Industry business units are mapped. In addition to this roll-out project, IGZ is responsible for planning and implementing two new automated warehouses.

In the period of reconstruction after the Second World War, creativity and a "get-it-done mentality" were more in demand than ever. Helmut Wagner likewise didn't waste any time, and in 1948 he started producing plastic water hoses and piping in Rehau in Upper Franconia.

On 18 May 2021, the SAP engineers at IGZ were awarded the coveted German Innovation Award in Gold in the category "Logistics & Infrastructure". The patented pick-by-robot solution "LUKE2" was thus certified as having the potential to sustainably change the market for fully automated individual parts picking. LUKE2 is the only mobile pick robot to date that can be used alternately or as an alternative to a worker. Furthermore, the automation solution is directly integrated into the market-leading software SAP EWM/MFS as a complete solution. The robot has all the technology and sensors on board, is connected with just one cable and is ready for use within a few minutes. New bilstein group logistics centre in Gelsenkirchen | Press release

The bilstein group from Ennepetal is expanding and is building another highly automated logistics centre in Gelsenkirchen with an area of 45,000 m². The dimensions of the first section are equivalent to more than six football pitches and the assembly of the steel structure for the automatic high-bay warehouse (HBW) with more than 85,000 pallet spaces and the automatic small parts warehouse (ASPW) with around 230,000 container spaces has been completed or is currently running at full speed.

 

The huge facility is being built on the traditional site in the "Schalker Verein" industrial park acquired by the bilstein group in 2017. From here, the leading spare parts supplier for passenger cars and commercial vehicles will ship wearing parts all over the world in the future. Perfectly timed logistics processes thanks to standard software

OPTIMA has invested around 20 million euros in the construction of a new hybrid central warehouse. Since March 2019, the packaging system specialist has been using the facility in Schwäbisch Hall to manage both the assembly supply across several business units and the global distribution of its range of spare parts. As a development and implementation partner, the SAP EWM general contractor IGZ was responsible not only for the entire plant technology but also for the implementation of SAP EWM (SAP Extended Warehouse Management) with the integrated SAP MFS (Material Flow Control), as well as direct ERP integration; furthermore, IGZ also implemented the entire control technology and plant visualisation.
