Intelligent multi-order picking
AI-based order allocation with a significant increase in efficiency for automated and manual warehouses
With multi-order picking, several target containers are supplied from one source container. These multi-order picks can save stock removal or routes in the warehouse. With an unfavorable order selection, multi-order picks are rarely possible.
Multi Order Matching
IGZ Best Practice Multi-Order Matching significantly increases the number of multi-order picks. In automated warehouses, this reduces the number of retrievals required, while in manual warehouses the number of destinations to be approached is reduced. As soon as a target bin becomes free at a goods-to-person workstation or on a mobile picking unit, the AI automatically determines the optimum next order for this bin based on the latest warehouse data. This minimizes retrievals, especially in automated warehouses, relieves the load on storage and retrieval machines (SRMs) and conveyor technology and - depending on the specific area of application in the warehouse - can increase system performance. Fewer trips also save energy and reduce wear and tear on the automated systems.
The effects on multi-order picks and possible efficiency increases are evaluated in advance with the help of a potential analysis. The solution is particularly suitable for companies with a large volume of picking orders and can be used in both automated and manual warehouses (multi-order picking requirement). In combination with the Smart Logistics Cockpit (SLC), warehouse performance and KPIs can be monitored in real time.
