ZF Passau receives Excellence Award for successful general contractor project with IGZ

The “ZF Excellence Award 2016” is an internal quality competition at ZF Friedrichshafen AG. Since 1995, ZF employees around the world have been able to submit their projects and ideas, divided into five categories, for the chance of winning the award. Each year, first of all finalist teams and finally five winners are selected from a great number of submissions.

The ZF project team has cause to be proud of its project manager Daniel Biefeld as a result of one of the ZF Excellence Awards 2016.

Last year, ZF Passau completed the “LC Assembly Logistics Centre” in conjunction with IGZ for the ZF Industrial Technology Division at the Passau-Patriching site.

IGZ realised this project is a general contractor for ZF. The scope of delivery included, amongst other things, the construction of an automatic small parts warehouse, the retrofitting of a high bay warehouse, and complete warehousing monitoring with SAP EWM/MFS.

It is easy to see the joint result of this project:

  • Reduction in the replenishment time for production supplies from 24 to 4 hours
  • Availability of the entire plant at a level of almost 100%
  • Storage performance increased 11 times over
  • Reduction from three to two shift operation

IGZ and ZF Passau are proud of these results and we would like to congratulate the ZF team on winning the Excellence Award.
