Review of the IGZ INNOVATION DAYS 2024
On October 22 and 23, 2024, the IGZ Innovation Days took place in Falkenberg. Over 180 participants from the logistics and production sectors gathered to discuss the latest trends and technologies surrounding Logistics + Digital Manufacturing.
The event offered a balanced mix of inspiring customer presentations, practical deep dive sessions, and live demonstrations of innovative solutions. From AI-driven warehouse strategies to plug-in robotic solutions and SAP-supported worker assistance systems. Once again, the Innovation Days were a great success and an impressive display of innovative strength for logistics, transportation management, and production.
Keynotes, Customer presentations & Deep Dive Sessions
The IGZ Keynote, presented by Managing Directors Johann Zrenner and Alfred Meyer, offered exciting insights into the current state and future developments of logistics and production.
In a strategic SAP outlook, Dominik Metzger (SAP SE) highlighted the role of Digital Supply Chain Business AI, new options for warehousing and transportation with S/4HANA, and introduced new possibilities for sustainable and resilient manufacturing.
The customer presentations provided practical insights into successful projects:
- FISCHERWERKE showcased their digital logistics transformation with SAP EWM/TM.
- LAPP shared their progress in the automation and restructuring of distribution logistics.
- GEBR. HEINEMANN presented innovations in their highly automated high-performance logistics with SAP EWM/MFS.
- KRAIBURG TPE and MAGNET-SCHULTZ demonstrated the benefits of SAP DM in digitalized production and as a growth driver.
The Deep Dive Sessions offered comprehensive insights into practical topics. Participants had the opportunity to experience the latest developments in Zero-Touch, Green, and AI live:
- SAP Automation: Robotics and Zero Touch with SAP EWM in production and distribution logistics
- SAP Warehousing: AI fleet management – integrated cross-manufacturer directly into SAP EWM
- SAP Warehousing: AI applications – specific benefits and cost savings in the supply chain
- SAP Manufacturing: Next Level MES – Simple | Flexible | Open
- SAP Manufacturing: SAP DM in the process industry
Trade exhibition and live demos in the new Innovation Center
Our newly designed Innovation Center, with over 300 square meters of exhibition space, offered the opportunity to experience IGZ's latest developments up close.
With four consecutive awards from the German Innovation Award for groundbreaking product innovations – including Pick by Robot (2021) and Assembly by Motion (2022) – we presented an impressive array of technologies.
A highlight of the event was the trade exhibition, where over 30 live demos took place.
Participants could explore IGZ Best Practices for SAP EWM/MFS, SAP TM, and Digital Manufacturing to understand how modern technologies contribute to optimizing production and logistics processes.
Innovative solutions like AI, Zero-Touch, and sustainable CO₂ savings excited attendees and offered valuable insights into the practical application of our technologies.
IGZ Zoiglabend – Networking in a Traditional Setting
The first day ended with the IGZ Zoiglabend at the picturesque Falkenberg Castle. With traditional Zoigl beer and Bavarian specialties, participants had the chance to network in a relaxed atmosphere and reflect on the day. The evening also provided an opportunity to immerse themselves in Bavarian culture.
Additionally, we were honored this year to welcome a special guest: Thomas Ernstberger, a beer sommelier and renowned brewing expert. At the conference center, he provided participants with fascinating insights into the world of beer brewing, introduced unique brewing techniques, and shared his extensive insider knowledge with all interested attendees.
