And a cherry on top... IGZ at LogiMAT 2012

Centre stage will be given to the modules SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), SAP ITSmobile and SAP Manufacturing Execution (ME/MII), which IGZ has already successfully implemented for many industry leaders.

Live demos will give delegates the chance to experience the performance and flexibility offered by SAP applications for warehousing and distribution/production logistics, and for interfacing with shop floor systems. This will be ensured by a warehouse mock-up controlled by SAP EWM (automated high bay storage and AS/RS for small parts), interfaced directly to the control layer (PLC), plus a manufacturing control station with SAP Manufacturing Execution applications, which IGZ will demo at its – even bigger – stand opposite the SAP AG stand. Delegates will also be able to experience at first hand the direct integration options for browser-based radio frequency applications in SAP ERP, SAP EWM or SAP LES with SAP ITSmobile.

The benefits of single-sourcing

Interfacing highly-automated logistics and production processes with SAP is a job for specialists only. The points to look out for when interfacing automated warehouses with multiple-deep storage or small part shuttle systems (e.g.) are familiar to IGZ from long practice. To date, the Falkenberg-based SAP Logistics integrators have seen successful go-lives for a wide range of demanding processes for many SAP EWM customers in manufacturing and retail. These include catch weight processes, required to log product-related and constantly-changing weights in SAP, picking waves for the efficient capacity utilisation of pick zones, and many other highly-demanding processes (set formation, slotting, etc.).

SAP's capacities and capabilities as a global player for enterprise software are also well-attested in production control. As one of only a handful of participants in the Collaborative Business Initiative for Manufacturing Execution, IGZ also offers solutions in this area. Companies in the discrete manufacturing sector or the process industries receive tailor-made IGZ best practice solutions, which guarantee the availability of their plant systems or simplify and optimise order management and control functions. The SAP Manufacturing package offered by IGZ is rounded off with solutions for managing production methods plus user-friendly PDC and MDE functions, as well as KPI-based rule sets to enable the modelling of KPI-based plant in SAP and the maximising of throughput.

Join SAP in the "Innovations Forum"

The LogiMAT Innovations Forum will give prospective customers the chance to learn about two of IGZ's SAP EWM customer projects. On Tuesday, the SAP EWM/MFS solution for the Tyrolit Group Logistics Centre will be presented in Forum IV in Hall 7. As typical for IGZ, this project also involved interfacing the PLC layer with SAP EWM without using an external material flow controller. On the following Wednesday, IGZ will use the same Forum to present the rationale for introducing SAP EWM/MFS at MB WAFERTEC, a Swiss hi-tech business, for the logistics in its new production facility.
